Do you embrace discomfort?

OR ARE YOU “COMFORT ZONING”?

Today, I want to remind each and every one of you about the importance of embracing the hurdles and challenges that come our way on the road to success.

It's no secret that the path to achieving our equestrian dreams is often filled with unexpected twists, turns, and moments of inconvenience. From early morning training sessions to late-night stable duties, we encounter discomfort in various forms. But guess what? It's all part of the ride, and it's a sign that we're on the right track!

We often don’t mind the discomfort of the duties around the horses, but when it comes to prioritising ourselves and what we would benefit from doing to improve our riding, we often take shortcuts… If I had a dollar every time a rider says “I do those exercises when my back or knees hurt” or “I don’t have time to work on my own fitness”, I would be a very wealthy woman. Most often, we do not keep our promises to ourselves, as it becomes uncomfortable and challenging. And we generally DON’T like the feeling of being uncomfortable.

Think about it: if everything came easily and effortlessly, would the accomplishment truly be as meaningful? The hurdles we face are opportunities for growth, both as riders and as individuals. They test our determination, resilience, and commitment to our passion. So, let's embrace them wholeheartedly, for they hold the keys to unlocking our true potential!

Remember, it's during the moments when we feel the most uncomfortable that we often experience the greatest breakthroughs. The sore muscles, the early mornings, the muddy boots—these are the battle scars of dedication and perseverance. Each hurdle overcome brings us one step closer to our ultimate equestrian goals!

So, let's approach each day with a different mindset. Let's appreciate the inconveniences as reminders that we are living our passion, chasing our dreams, with dedication. Together, let's get through the discomfort. And instead of pushing it away, let’s embrace it!
